Internet of Thing use in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Hospital
To do manually all the things in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital is not only difficult but also for multiple patients it becomes close to impossible. As technology widely increases in every sector, thus we implement an internet of things (IOT) in ICU which converts our ICU into smart ICU. Thus doctor needs to monitor their patients in ICU section 24 hours a day.
There are many applications in ICU where we implemented different sensor for monitoring the patients in case of emergencies so that efficient medical services can be provided to patients in correct time. In a various application like we use heartbeat sensor, temperature sensor, blood pressure sensor to detect a heartbeat, blood pressure, temperature pulse in ICU.
TEMPERATURE PULSE MONITORING
The temperature sensor senses the temperature of its ambiance, so when this sensor is in close proximity to the patients its reports of patient temperature. Thus the doctor can easily get access to these vital parameter pertaining to the patient’s health over the Iota from anywhere over the world.
BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART BEAT MONITORING
As everyone is busier in their in life thus making the process simple and easy for checking blood pressure and heartbeat in digitally is done by using IOT technology. As we all are known more than patients are at high risk of having a heart attack in ICU. Manually observe all the patients in ICU are difficult for a doctor. Thus IOT technology introduces sensor which fits over a finger trip and uses the amount of infrared light reflected by the blood circulating inside.
The sensor itself consists of an infrared emitter and detector mounted side by side and pressed closely against the skin. At the time heart pumps, the blood pressure rises sharply and the amount of infrared light from the emitter that reflected back to the detector, and the blood pressure and heart beat report is sent to the doctor as well as the family member of patients through the internet.Basically, we used ECG machine which uses ECG sensing network which is the heart of the entire system. It is responsible for collecting physiological data from the patient and transmitting this data to the IOT Cloud through the internet.

The main objective of the system is an evaluation of patients breathing pattern in ICU section 24 hours a day. It is difficult for a doctor to manually operate an integral part of caring for the critically ill patient. By introducing several sensors at the ventilator in ICU is make easy for a doctor to monitoring the patient breathing condition in every moment.
By using IOT technology in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is improve immediate medical attention especially during the time of emergency in ICU also there is no need for waiting in long queues to see a physician. It also reduces the cost, manpower in ICU and makes our ICU to a smart ICU.
